First stage. BAIONA/ BAYONNE - UZTARITZE/ USTARITZ.

Uneven path: 15 m/Parcours: 14 km/Durée: 3h.
Course down town and mainly on road. This stage takes us along cathedral of Bayonne while following the edge of Adour- Aturri and of its affluent Nive-Errobi until Uztaritze.
It has beautiful strolls without uneven paths which go from the city to the countryside labourdine, of the urban world into the rural world.
To see: As well as the inheritance of Baiona, Uztaritze is a splendid example of labourdin village.
Note: Compostelle road is marked out after 40 minutes path.

2nd stage. UZTARITZE/ USTARITZ - AINHOA - URDAZUBI/URDAX:
290 m/27,5 km 4h45.

Asphalt road and dirt track. We enter the labourdines hills with its many small rises and descents, over its brooks, between its meadows and its forests mainly of oaks but also of a variety of elder trees, elms, maples or hazel trees.
To see: The village-street of Ainhoa, the native house of Axular, one of the famous men of Basque Litterature of the XVIIe century; the monastery of S. El Salvador d' Urdazubi.
The sculptor Genaro Iruin converted the neighbourhoods of his house into an open air museum
Note: Up until Dantxarinea the path marked out is sometimes difficult to follow.

3rd. stage. URDAZUBI/ URDAX- OTSONDO - AMAIUR/MAYA.
Characteristics: 448 m/9km /3h
It is the first collar, with 500 m of uneven path. It is not excessive, however we advise you to take this relatively short stage to accustom you to such uneven path, which will enable you to make an interesting stop in the Urdazubi neighbourhoods.
To see: the monastery of San El Salvador d' Urdazubi, and also the cave of Ikaburua with its guided tours or the mill. In Amaiur/Maya, you will be able to observe his town-street structure and the monument with the site of the castle which underwent defeat in 1522 and which symbolizes the loss of independence in Navarre. The church is interesting for its romantic organ.

4th stage. AMAIUR/MAYA- ELIZONDO- BERROETA:
CHARACTERISTIC 224 m /19' 5 km/4h30
This path, which crosses Baztan, make it possible to discover quietly and from within this beautiful valley. It is a course of weak difficulty strewn with many details of all kinds: nature, landscape, the ethnography... correspondent with a valley which keeps its traditions preciously to be seen: All the villages which you will cross have their charm and are worthy of interest: monasteries, palate, firm, small museums...; the choice is difficult.
Note: Between Amaiur and Arizkun there is an alternative. It is signposted Azpilikueta and passes by the districts of Urrasun and San Blas

5th stage. BERROETA - BELATE - LANTZ.
Characteristics: 628 m/15 km /4h30
It is the queen stage of this path which passes by the Belate. The forest of beeches makes the rise more bearable. Part of the route follows an old Roman way.
To see: At the inn of San Blas, halfway up the rise, one can see the ruins of the hermitage and the inn of pilgrims which hold the same name. Little after the collar, during the descent, one finds the monastery-hospital restored by Notre Dame de Belate, and the village of Lantz

6th stage. LANTZ - IRUNA/PAMPELUNE:
Characteristics 210 m/27km/ 8hl5. Urban Zone starting from Arre
It is a zone under construction and thus one can encounter some difficulties following the traditional path. It is a weak uneven route but long, to be followed quietly
To see: As well as all that there is to see in Pampelune, one should not forget the bridge and Ermitage-Auberge d’Arre. The villages of Anue Olaibar and Ezkabarte, which we will cross, are also of a certain interest.
